The Client has been informed about the basic functionality and location of the main components of the system. (modules, inverter, cabling, main DC isolator/switch, protection equipment and meters) User manuals have been supplied to the Client, as is applicable. (Modules, inverter & batteries.) The Client has been informed on possible risks when using the system. The Client has been instructed on how to safely operate the system. The Client has been informed about of his/her legal responsibilities in respect of the safe use and maintenance of the system. The Client has been informed regarding of the local and/or remote monitoring systems and instructed about the respective functions. The Client has been informed in terms of the available routine inspection and tests to be provided as per separate service agreement. The Service Contact Details are displayed on visible locations on critical components.Main PV System modes and actions explained:The necessary actions and system modes were explained to the Client: Normal operation: The PV System is producing energy (and feeding in)as expected and confirmed on the inverter display or monitoring app. Operation during 'loss of grid' or load shedding events: Grid tied system (without backup/storage) shuts down. Abnormal Operation: Inverter displays malfunction or error messages, restarts repeatedly etc. Actions in case of Malfunction: - Switch off the PV plant (AC switch connector / DC switch disconnector.) - Inspect for any visible faults (e.g. loose connections, brittle cables or physical damage to any component) - Contact the Installer to arrange a call out time & date for inspection.Safety, Safe Use and Maintenance / System PerformanceThe Safety and Maintenance / System Performance points above have been discussed with the Client. All Maintenance activities listed in the user manuals must be adhered to. The following annual inspections are recommended: Functional testing of the integrity of all protective equipment. (e.g. earthing, lightning protectors etc.) Visual inspection of all components for physical damage, including: solar panels, cables, connectors, mounting brackets. Changes to the configuration or set-up of the plant / PV array / roof. (e.g. after thunder storms etc.) It is recommended to routinely monitor PV plant yield in order to identify any failures or deterioration. (If not permanently monitored. Where possible, dirt (leaves, bird droppings etc.) must be removed from PV modules by washing them - as per manufacturer's instructions.
